Teresa McClelland, 50, from Chula Vista was on her way to church but she never reaches her destination.  She was killed while crossing a street in a car accident.  Medical Examiners confirmed her identity last Thursday.
McClelland was on heading to the International Christian Center which is located on Third Avenue.

It was in the evening, just after 7 pm and McClelland was crossing Palomar Street on Wednesday.  A car was heading west and hit McClelland while she was crossing.  She was not in a crosswalk at the time and at least a half hour at already passed since the sun had gone down.

Chula Vista police provided the details of the accident.  She had to be taken to the hospital by air.  According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, at 8:24 pm she was pronounced dead because of the injuries she had suffered from the collision.

It was determined that the car driver was not at fault.  Police did not cite the man who was driving the car that hit McClelland.  He was in his mid-40s and was not injured.

Medical Examiner’s Office told reported that McClelland was married and had a job working at a restaurant located at the North Island Naval Air Station.
