Woman Calls 911 but They Didnt come in Time
Brittany Zimmerman, 21, did what we are all are told to do in case of an emergency, call 911. But no one came to her aid for 48 minutes.
The 911 dispatcher claims he did not hear anything, but the 911 tape has recordings of her screaming and gasping.
Zimmerman had arrived home where she lived with her fiancé. Police believe that the person who assaulted was a stranger. There were signs of force entry in her home.
Zimmerman’s fiancé found her body first. He arrived before police dispatched from the 911 call center arrived.
The 911 center that received Zimmerman’s call is under scrutiny. In question is whether or not Zimmerman could have been saved if the dispatcher would have sent help sooner.
After interviewing friends and family, police do not have any reason to believe that the attacker was someone she knew.
In fact, officials are still not certain about the motivation of the attack. Preliminary investigation shows that she was killed in her bedroom with a knife. Some items from her apartment have been confiscated.
Some DNA samples were taken from Zimmerman’s body and around her. They have not been matched with anyone as yet.
Police are still looking for the suspect. Zimmerman’s family is offering a $14,000 reward.
