Train Crash Los Angeles Claims 26th Death
The Driver of the Metro Link Train Accident has been identified as the 26th victim in this Fridays train crash. man in his 50s died today at County-USC Medical Center. His name has not yet been released.
At least 25 people were killed in the head-on crash of a commuter train and a freight train near Los Angeles that officials on Saturday attributed to the failure of the passenger train engineer to stop at a red light. The collision also injured a total of about 135 people
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office today also formally identified the engineer of the Metrolink train as Robert Sanchez, 46, of La Crescenta. Sanchez died in the crash. Teenagers told the media, and later authorities, that they had exchanged text messages with Sanchez while he was operating the train in Chatsworth.
