Although extremely expensive, federal lawmakers reached a conclusion last Tuesday.  They are requiring that a collision-avoidance system be implemented on “high-risk” railroad tracks all over the nation by 2015.  This would include the Southern California rail lines which is hundreds of miles of tracks.
