March 12, 2010 San Diego
A Parkway Middle School girl was attacked by a man around 8:30 a.m. when she was walking to school in the 9200 block of Fletcher Parkway on Thursday morning. Police say the man started talking to the young girl then started to hug her and tried go give her a kiss.
The vice-principal of the school saw the man and the girl walking together and stopped and picked up the girl and took her to school where she called the police.
The man was described as being about 50-years-old, wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He was then arrested on Dallas Street near Fletcher Parkway.
This was the third prowling occurrence in the past couple days in the County.
There had been reports of a man lurking around two schools that border Kit Carson Park. On March 5, a Bear Valley Middle School 8th grader was walking on the campus of L.R. Green Elementary School where she said a man had approached her. The suspect signaled to the girl to come over to him in his truck police said.
Escondido Unified School District sent out messages to parents warning them about the recent attacks.
