Metrolink Train Accident Kills Man In Sylmar
A Metrolink train struck and killed a 50-year-old man in the Sylmar area this morning, fire officials said.
The train, which was headed south on the Antelope Valley line, hit the man about 9:18 a.m. near Hubbard Street and San Fernando Road, said Ron Myers, a spokesman for Los Angeles City Fire Department.
The victim, who had not been identified this morning, died at the scene, Myers said. It was not clear what he was doing at the time of the collision or whether the train’s engineer saw him or attempted to stop.
The train remained at the scene this morning. None of the 70 passengers on board were injured, Myers said.
