Man Pleaded Guilty to Stabbing his Ex-Wife
A neighbor was out walking her dog around 10:15 am in the area of 10400 block of Strathmore Drive when she found the body of Maureen Weaver, 50. It didn’t take long for the police department to connect Weaver’s ex-husband to the murder.
60-year-old Frank Alexander Weaver was arrested four days later in Meridian, Idaho. Frank and Maureen divorced in the late 1990s and have a 10-year-old son.
Frank Alexander, an East County man, admitted to the murder. He said that he stabbed his ex-wife just outside her home in Santee. Last Thursday with this guilty plea to first-degree murder, Frank Weaver quickly received a sentenced of 36 years to life in a state prison.
He admitted that he stabbed Maureen in the throat as well as in the back of the neck on May 22nd. She died in the same spot he stabbed her.
Because he pleaded guilty to the murder, Deputy District Attorney Chantal De Mauregne released a special circumstance allegation that he lied in wait which could have gotten him the death penalty.
Judge Patricia Cookson also ordered that Frank Weaver had to pay $3,476 in compensation to assist in covering burial expenses for his ex-wife.
