Boat caught with over 1000 pounds of Drugs
The United States Coast Guard surveys the waters for those that need rescued and those that need disposed of. It was just this past Saturday early in the morning that the US Coast Guard was busy disposing of over 1,000 pounds of pot.
It was around 3:40am that the US Coast Guard spotted a 25-foot open boat running with their lights turned off. The boat was caught only 12 miles northwest off the coast of Point Loma.
Federal agents seized the boat that was being steered by three Mexicans. The federal agents then
discovered that the boat was actually transporting 13 bales of weed piled high and weighing 1,062 pounds as reported by the Vince Bond of Customs and Border Protection. Federal agents impounded both the pot and the boat which was towed into the San Diego Harbor.
It has not been reported what has happened to the three men and whether or not they would be charged with a crime or if they will simply be deported back to Mexico. The names of the three Mexicans were also not divulged.
