Assualt at Gas Station in Carlsbad
It started out as a friendly gesture but ended in a stabbing. Two men were at a Shell gas station on Carlsbad Village Drive near I-5 around 7 a.m. One of the men stayed in their car which has been described by witnesses as a white Toyota Camry while the other entered the convenience store.
The man asked the clerk for a couple of bucks so he could pump some gas in his car. The clerk gave in and gave the guy some money.
The suspect bought some coffee and pastries and then approached the clerk again. This time he asked him to give him his wallet. The clerk did not do it and so the two men began to fight. The man then stabbed the clerk three to four times.
The clerkâs attacker then ran out from the store and left with his partner in crime in their Camry, which is missing a right hubcap. The police found the clerk conscious but covered in blood on the sidewalk. He had to be flown by helicopter to a La Jolla hospital.
Surveillance video shows that the guy who stabbed the clerk had light skin, could be White or Latino, and has a mustache.
